"Billy was great to have out. He checked the entire plumbing throughout my house got everything in a great working order. We noticed a small issue with my water heater and he talked through it and let me know my options and we got it taken care of. He even gave me a dog bowl for my dogs, which was really cool."

HVAC & Plumbing in Phoenix (North), AZ
Serving North Central, Moon Valley, Sunnyslope, and the rest of Phoenix (North) since 1982.
Our shop is at 2110 W Greenway Rd — squarely in north Phoenix. We work the North Central corridor, Moon Valley, Sunnyslope, the Pointe Tapatio area, and the Lookout Mountain neighborhoods every day. Phoenix's north-central housing is a wide range, from the historic North Central homes from the 1940s-60s through the 1990s tract development further north. The mechanical work varies accordingly — vintage HVAC retrofits in old North Central, builder-grade replacement cycles in the 90s subdivisions.

What Phoenix (North) homeowners should know
Historic North Central homes need careful equipment sizing
Pre-1970 homes in North Central were not designed around modern central air. Oversizing is a real problem here — too much capacity short-cycles, hurts humidity control, and wastes electricity. We size to actual load calcs based on the building envelope.
Phoenix municipal water hardness is destroying water heaters early
City of Phoenix water runs 250+ ppm hardness. Without annual flush and anode-rod check, water heaters fail 3-5 years early. A whole-home softener is the long-term fix; an anode rod every 4 years is the maintenance fix.
Moon Valley and Sunnyslope have hillside grading complications
Some of these neighborhoods sit on hillsides where condensate drainage can become an issue. Improperly graded condensate lines back up and damage the air handler over time. We check this on every install.

"100% Completely Satisfied! We contacted North Valley Mechanical in January of 2024 to assess our HVAC system. Our upstairs would be incredibly hot, while our downstairs would be ice cold. Once Kyle W. showed up and took a look at our system, we knew we were in good hands. Kyle was extremely patient with us as he explained every option that we had open to us. He let us know what we HAD to do, what we SHOULD do and what we COULD do to prevent any issues in the future. Kyle was incredibly helpful at actually explaining our current system setup to us and why it was incorrect and not performing like it should. We decided to have everything taken care of correctly, so that our HVAC system would function 100% properly. The team that was responsible for removing our old system in the attic(including ductwork) and replacing it with the new system was nothing but professional, courteous and really seemed to work well together. We really hope the owner of NVM reads this so he can acknowledge the team of Kyle, George, Xavier, Carlos and Bret for being such an outstanding face of the company. We will continue to recommend North Valley Mechanical to our clients, family and friends!"
"Richaard performed my initial inspection and was very thorough and professional. His recommendations led us to getting a new HVAC unit which we had been putting off way too long. Tyler helped us make the right choice and had it fully installed within 2 days. Amazing! The technicians that did the install in one day were great and didn’t stop working until the job was finished. They made sure everything was clean before leaving and helped me set-up the thermostat app. I’m super satisfied and recommend North Valley to everyone."
"All went very smoothly. The only problem I’m having is figuring out how to use the new thermostat and program it for daily use as well as vacation time. Brandon was fantastic and very knowledgeable and respectful. I only want him to come back to my home in six months for check up on air conditioner. Thank you, Brandon again."
